[ENG] Penitente BT stems from the analysis and revival of the heading of Penitente, a newspaper printed in Cartagena in 1907. The research conducted by Juan Pablo Fajardo from “Piedra Tijera Papel”, led to the inspiration of the first versions.

Penitente BT was originally conceived as a serif typeface. However, during the course of the redesign, the need to have a sans serif version arose, and thus Penitente BT Sans Variable was born. This version was used in a Reggaeton Club project commissioned by our friends from Medellín, Invade Design. In its current version, it is a typeface that allows movement through distortion and inclination.

Penitente BT Var. reflects the energy, expressiveness and musical stridency of one night in Perro Negro.
[ESP] Penitente BT Es una tipografía display que se origina a partir de un ejercicio de análisis y vectorización del cabezote del periódico Penitente impreso en Cartagena en el año 1907 y que, gracias a la investigación de Juan Pablo Fajardo (Piedra Tijera Papel), nos inspiramos para el diseño de las primeras versiones.

Penitente fue originalmente concebida como una tipografía serif. Sin embargo, durante el curso del rediseño, surgió la necesidad de tener una versión sans serif y nació Penitente BT Sans Variable, para ser usada en un club de Reggaeton, proyecto pedido por nuestros parceros de Invade Design de Medellín. Ahora es una tipografía que permite movimiento a través de la distorsión y la inclinación.

Penitente BT Var. refleja la energía, la expresividad y la estridencia musical de una noche en Perro Negro.
