Leyenda BT

Leyenda is a custom typeface for the Colombian Soccer Team (FCF). A very exciting project because of the process, meeting players and their experiences, also being part of the communication process of one of the most beloved brands in Colombia was very enjoyable.

Although in Colombia we do not have a typographic tradition, there is extensive and exciting work by Sergio Trujillo Magnenant, a designer, illustrator and artist from the last century, of which there is a record of the lettering he used for his projects. It is for this reason that Leyenda has geometric shapes, very much from the thirties and that rationalism behind the design.

The “dot” feature, either as a diacritic or as a punctuation mark, is directly inspired by the ball, of course.

The national team shield was also redesigned in this project, an honor and a dream come true. There are 3 different versions included in the typeface, each one is smaller, and the surrounding flag changes in relation to the size.

Leyenda es una fuente para la Selección Colombiana de fútbol, un proyecto muy emocionante, por conocer a jugadores, sus experiencias y ser parte del proceso de comunicación de una de las marcas más queridas en Colombia.

Aunque en Colombia no tenemos una tradición tipográfica, sí existe un trabajo extenso y emocionante de Sergio Trujillo Magnenant, diseñador, ilustrador y artista del siglo pasado, del cual hay un registro del lettering que usaba para sus proyectos. Es por esta razón que Leyenda tiene una formas geométricas, muy de los años treintas y ese racionalismo detrás del diseño.

El rasgo del punto, ya sea como diacrítico o como signo de puntuación está directamente inspirado en el balón.

En este proyecto también se re diseñó el escudo de la selección, un honor y un sueño hecho realidad.
