Es lo que es

[ENG] Es lo que es (“It is what it is”) is a graffiti-typographic editorial project in newspaper format, created in collaboration with Saks. Connecting graffiti and typography was the challenge with which the project started, seeking to exalt in form of a typographic specimen the fonts of our studio. The name of the specimen (“It is what it is”) comes from the essence of graffiti, where the spontaneity of the stroke can produce certain natural errors, and where the skill of the best taggers is demonstrated. The editorial piece is accompanied by a DVD which, through the photographic and video record created by Oscar Ramirez and Doomingo, shows the process behind the intervention.

[ESP] Es lo que es es un proyecto editorial graffiti-tipográfico en formato periódico, creado en colaboración con Saks. Conectar graffiti y tipografía fue el reto con el que comenzó el proyecto, buscando exaltar a modo de espécimen tipográfico las fuentes de nuestro estudio. El nombre del ejemplar proviene de la esencia del graffiti, en donde la espontaneidad del trazo puede producir ciertos errores naturales, y donde se demuestra la destreza de los mejores taggers, lo que encuentra un equilibrio con el rigor tipográfico. La pieza editorial se acompaña de un DVD que, a través del registro fotográfico y de video creado por Oscar Ramírez y Doomingo, muestra el proceso detrás de la intervención.
